A “pickup” meeting

Our August picnic was rained out so we met back at the Veterans building. We had a smaller than normal turnout but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

The Macintosh Mystery Hour was lively and wide ranging as usual. We had no main meeting topic but that didn’t seem to slow us down. Rodney Jensen stepped in with a presentation on Spaces – Apple’s multiple-desktop organizer. This was his first real presentation before the group and he did well and handed the inevitable glitch quite well. Good job, Rod!

Dick Lennox showed a large number of iPhone Applications. Some of these demonstrated extension of features from the Mac OS to iPhone Apps. Check out iGraffiti, Jott, Evernote, Pandora, Sketches, MagicPad, Picoli, Face Melter, and SpeakEasy. Then there are iPint and iBeer which have no redeeming value – but I want them both!

Thanks to all who braved the elements!

  1. Hey Ron,
I was having some problems with my demonstration at the last meeting. I am going to ask Kerry about doing another demo. I have a post in the forum that I added after the demo that might help. I use spaces all the time and find it to be a really neat feature. I have Windows XP in VM Ware Fusion, and put XP in one space and Leopard in another. I also use it when I pay bills online. Quicken in one space, the web on another and my passwords on a third one. I’ll confer with Kerry.
    Rod.
PS sorry i didn’t see this sooner

  2. Ron, I forgot to mention about being able to move files from windows to mac, and visa versa.
